Four teen suspects arrested for pushing boy in traffic in Hemet

Four teen suspects have been arrested for pushing a 15-year-old boy into traffic on February 28 in the City of Hemet, the Hemet Police Department announced. The victim was struck by a vehicle, resulting in serious injuries.

According to the Hemet Police Department, the 15-year-old high school student was riding his skateboard near the intersection of Stetson Avenue had Seven Hills Drive when a group of teens met him at that corner. A brief altercation ensued, resulting in the victim being senselessly pushed into traffic lanes where he was struck by a vehicle. The victim sustained major head and brain injuries and remains hospitalized. The skateboard he was riding was stolen following this tragic incident.

Three of the suspects are 15 years old. The fourth suspect is 16 years old. Two of the suspects are related, authorities said. All four suspects attend a local Hemet high school, but detectives will not say if they attend the same high school as the victim.

The teens are facing multiple charges. Because of laws regarding the detention of potential juvenile offenders, authorities are not releasing their names.

The victim’s family, who maintain vigil at his bedside, have been advised of this latest development by investigators. Detectives are not looking for any other suspects, the authorities said.
