Four Yucaipa residents arrested for theft of catalytic converters in Murrieta

On September 11 at approximately 3:30 a.m., officers from the Murrieta Police Department responded to a call regarding suspicious activity on Mandra Street. 

The caller stated that she observed subjects tampering with a parked vehicle and provided a description of the vehicle, the number of occupants, and the last direction the vehicle was traveling, according to the Murrieta Police Department.

Officers located the vehicle and conducted an investigative stop. During the investigation, officers observed saws and other tools on the floorboard of the vehicle and nine catalytic converters in the trunk, according to the Murrieta Police Department.

Four males from Yucaipa were placed under arrest. The two adult males, Christopher Yepez and Francisco Garcia, were arrested for possession of stolen property, grand theft, tampering with a vehicle, and conspiracy to commit a crime. The juveniles were released to their parents.
