Fourteen drivers were cited during a Menifee DUI Checkpoint on Saturday, November 8, from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. near the intersection of Scott Road and Lindenberger Road.
During the operation, officers screened 622 vehicles. Seven drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, and seven other drivers were cited for various other moving violations.
Checkpoint locations are based on a history of crashes and DUI arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired.
The Menifee Police Department announced it will conduct another DUI Checkpoint on Saturday, December 13, as part of its ongoing effort to keep impaired drivers off the road and ensure community safety.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by the California Highway Patrol Cannabis Grant.
