The Canyon Lake POA Board of Directors approved on Tuesday $54,402 in funding from the Reserve Funds to replace two 2008 vehicles for the Planning and Compliance Department.
According to the POA, the 2008 Ford Escape hybrids are constantly having issues and have become unreliable. At times the vehicles won’t start or will shut down while driving. The electric drive batteries need to be replaced, which can cost $10,000 per vehicle, said the POA. If the vehicle sits for three or more days, the electric drive batteries go dead and the vehicle needs to be charged and reset. The interior is also worn out.
