Funeral services to be held for slain Riverside County deputy

The procession and funeral services for slain Riverside County Deputy Isaiah Cordero are set for Friday, January 6.

The procession will start at approximately 10:30 at Acheson & Graham Mortuary and end at Harvest Christian Fellowship where a private funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.

The procession route is as follows:

  • Eastbound Magnolia Avenue from the mortuary parking lot at 7944 Magnolia Avenue
  • Continue eastbound on Magnolia Avenue to Madison Street
  • Turn left, northbound, onto Madison Street
  • Turn left, westbound, onto Arlington Avenue
  • Turn right, northbound, onto Urban Street
  • Continue on Urban Street to the church parking lot 

Members of the public are invited to line the streets in support. The services will be streamed live on the Riverside County Sheriff’s Facebook and YouTube pages. 

Cordero was shot and killed in the line of duty while attempting a traffic stop on Thursday, December 29, 2022.

Cordero, 32, started his career with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department on May 5, 2014, as a correctional deputy. He was promoted to a sworn deputy sheriff in 2018. He transferred to the Jurupa Valley Station in 2020. 

Cordero completed motor school in September 2022 and was working traffic enforcement as a motor deputy at the time of his death.
