Long-time Canyon Lake resident Debby Gagnon has been named the grand marshal of Canyon Lake’s 2022 Fiesta Day Parade. Gagnon was chosen to serve as the grand marshal last year, but Fiesta Day was canceled due to the pandemic.
Gagnon is the owner of Pack, Wrap & Post in the Canyon Lake Towne Center, a business she took over and renamed 35 years ago. Nine years later, on June 1, 1995, Pack, Wrap & Post became an official United States Contract Postal Unit.
A resident since 1986, Gagnon has spent countless hours serving the community. For Gagnon, it has always been about being a small business owner and giving back to the community.
Gagnon helps the city to organize its Military Banner Program and annual Veterans Day Celebration. She was part of the volunteer team responsible for bringing the Veterans Memorial Monument to the Canyon Lake Towne Center in November 2011.
Gagnon has been a member of the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce for more than 20 years, serving most of those years as a board member. She helps to plan and organize the chamber’s annual Oktoberfest and Parade of Frights events.
In past years, Gagnon served on the city’s Emergency Preparedness Committee and the POA’s Fiesta Day Committee and was a member of the Jr. Women’s Club and Tennis Club.
Gagnon has been honored several times for her community involvement. Her past awards include Volunteer of the Year, Business of the Month, and Member of the Month. More recently, the city named Gagnon Citizen of the Month and the chamber named Pack, Wrap, & Post Business of the Month. In May, Gagnon will be honored by the POA as the grand marshal of Canyon Lake’s Fiesta Day Parade.
Fiesta Day is an annual event held on the Saturday before Memorial Day. It’s considered the granddaddy of all Canyon Lake events. Fiesta Day kicks off with an old-fashioned hometown parade followed by a day filled with entertainment and food. This year’s Fiesta Day will have a new twist on the traditional theme and will take place at five locations over three days.
