This year’s event dazzled with a Gatsby/Zelda theme, inviting attendees to don their best 1920s-inspired attire and step into an era of glitz, glamour, and generosity.

Guests were treated to butler-served hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction with more than 70 curated baskets, raising thousands of dollars in support of the club’s scholarship program and philanthropic endeavors.

The highlight of the evening was the lively fashion show, showcasing a variety of casual chic and formal apparel from Amani Boutique, We Boutique, White House Black Market, Sugar Dollz, and Pure Bliss Boutique.

Club members Samantha Gorrell, Penny Bolger, Barbie Curran, Corrinn Davis, Ila Goldstein, Debra Sacks, Karen Wallace, Maria Alvarado and her daughter Luciana, CC Collier, and Amy Liecht and her daughter Mia strutted the catwalk as models.

Adding style and flair to an already spirited event, the models were escorted to the stage by men in suits and tuxedos. They included Mayor Mark Terry, Roger Alvarado, Chuck Gentz, John Grande, Dave Dain, and Tytan Campbell.

The lucky winner of the grand prize drawing was Jennifer Dain, who walked away with $500 cash.

The event was chaired by Calista Grande, with the help of co-chair Mary Larkin and a committee of volunteers. “It was an honor and a privilege to be able to chair this event, Grande said. She praised Larkin and her team’s dedication and the community’s support.

Grande also gave special thanks to Vicki Garaney for her exceptional work in gathering donations for more than 70 baskets, which played a key role in the success of the silent auction.

Grande expressed gratitude for three Canyon Lake residents who donated their services: Sarah Dowler of Dowler Event Decor for donating the decor, Aprile Deanne McKinnon for providing the evening’s entertainment, and Valerie Corral of Pure Luxe Photo Booth for providing the photo booth.

The Fashion Show is the Woman’s Club’s flagship event, drawing approximately 200 women each year. More than just a stylish soirée, the event plays a crucial role in the club’s philanthropic efforts, with proceeds contributing significantly to local charities and scholarships supporting Canyon Lake women and girls. The club raises approximately $40,000 annually for its philanthropic efforts.
