Thousands of spectators lined Canyon Lake Drive on Sunday evening for the 10th Annual Christmas Golf Cart Parade and Toy Drive. With Canyon Lake Fire Station 60 leading the way, more than 150 whimsically decorated golf carts paraded from Blue Bird Drive to East Port Park as spectators cheered them.
Participants were asked to donate one unwrapped toy. “We had a record-breaking number of entries, spectators, and toy donations this year,” said organizer Mike Shroyer. “The trailer was packed with toys.”
The parade is hosted annually by the Street Carts of Canyon Lake with the support of the POA. To encourage participants to deck out their golf carts in lights and festive holiday decor, the club awards trophies for the best-decorated golf carts.
