Canyon Lake’s Happy Camp is back open. On January 25, Riverside County moved into the Purple Tier, allowing campgrounds to reopen for overnight camping.
Happy Camp offers lake views and beach-front camping to Canyon Lake POA members “in good standing” and their guests.
Recently renovated, Happy Camp features 55 RV sites that accommodate modern size RVs, boat docks, gas dock, restrooms and showers, roped swimming area, shaded picnic areas, fishing spots, horseshoe pits, on-site propane sales, RV dump station, and more. The new playground is currently under construction.
Campers must register at the campground office on arrival. Members must show a current POA card and all guests must have a current guest pass to use the campground. Office hours for check-in are daily between 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Camp fees are payable in advance.
Campsites are limited to eight individuals per site. The Prime Member is limited to two sites between May 15 and September 14. A lottery system is used for campsites on the 4th of July holiday. Day campers are accommodated at specific sites and must be vacated by 6 p.m.
Camping rates are posted on the POA website at www.canyonlakepoa.com.
