A Hemet man has been arrested on suspicion of child annoyance and committing a felony while on bail.
On May 31, the Southwest Sheriff’s Station received a report of a child annoyance incident and the display of harmful matter to a minor that occurred in the 40000 block of Winchester Road in the City of Temecula.
The reporting party indicated that several juvenile victims were approached by a suspect, who exhibited harmful materials and engaged in inappropriate conduct with them in a public setting.
After further investigation, deputies identified the suspect as 32-year-old Joshua Michael Wafer of Hemet. Wafer was located at his residence and arrested for child annoyance, exhibiting harmful material to a minor, and committing a felony while on bail. His bail was set at $150,000.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office believes there may be additional victims of similar crimes involving Wafer. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact Deputy Kevin Au at 951-696–3000.
