The Hemet Police Department announced the passing of Officer John Dombrowski, who passed away peacefully at his home on June 28.
Dombrowski was a nine-year veteran of the Hemet Police Department. He was hired as a police officer trainee in April 2013 and sworn in as an officer after graduating from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Training Academy in October 2013.
During his time with the Hemet Police Department, Dombrowski worked patrol and was later assigned as a school resource officer in 2017 where he impacted the lives of hundreds of students before returning to patrol in 2019.
“Officer Dombrowski served the City of Hemet and its residents with class, honor, and dignity,” the department said. “He will be greatly missed by his brothers and sisters in blue here at the Hemet Police Department.”
Dombrowski’s cause of death is unknown at this time. He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.
