As summer winds down, the Hemet Police Department is reminding the community to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity. The department is encouraging residents to follow the simple but effective message: “If you see something, say something.”
The department recently released its enforcement and activity statistics for the month of August, reporting 7,019 calls for service.
During the month, Hemet Police Officers took 1,544 reports, made 424 arrests, recovered 22 firearms, and located seven stolen vehicles. Ten stolen vehicles were reported.
Officers recorded 96 drug violations, made 21 DUI arrests, and conducted 209 pedestrian checks.
Traffic enforcement remained a significant focus, with officers conducting 904 traffic stops, issuing 356 citations, and responding to 1220 traffic collisions throughout the city.
The department also utilized drone technology to assist with operations, conducting 178 drone flights.
The priority call response time was 4.8 minutes.
