Local fireworks shows start today, June 25, with the City of Menifee’s annual Independence Celebration from 4 to 9:30 p.m. at Wheatfield Park and the City of Murrieta’s 31st Birthday Celebration from 2 to 9 p.m. at California Oaks Sports Park. The fireworks shows start at 9 p.m.
The following celebrations will take place on Monday, July 4:
- The City of Lake Elsinore’s 4th of July Celebration starts with its annual Kids Bike Parade during the Party in the Park event from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by fireworks over the lake at 9 p.m. For additional details, click here.
- The Canyon Lake POA’s fireworks show will start at 9 p.m. Canyon Lake is a gated community, guests must be called in. For additional details, click here.
- The City of Temecula’s 4th of July Extravaganza starts with its Star Spangled Parade at 10 a.m. in Old Town Temecula, followed by an afternoon of family fun and fireworks from 2 to 10 p.m. at Ronald Reagan Sports Park. The fireworks show will start at 9 p.m. For additional details, click here.
- The City of Corona’s Independence Day Celebration starts with the Main Street USA Independence Day Parade at 9 a.m., followed by entertainment at 5 p.m. and fireworks at sundown. For additional details, click here.
- The City of Moreno Valley’s Fourth of July Celebration kicks off with the annual parade at 9:30 a.m., followed by its FamilyFun Fest from 2 to 9 p.m. and fireworks at 9 p.m. For additional details, click here.
- Pechanga Resort Casino’s Fireworks Show will start at approximately 8:45 p.m. Spectators will be able to view the fireworks from many vantage points in the South Temecula area and will be allowed to park in designated areas at Pechanga Resort Casino at 45000 Pechanga Pkwy., Temecula. Riverside County and the Riverside Country Sheriff’s Department remind the community that all fireworks are illegal in Riverside County. Last year, the Riverside County Board of Supervisors approved the authority of officers’ from the fire department, sheriff’s department, and code enforcement to issue citations and penalties for those who light illegal fireworks in the unincorporated areas. The higher fines will be issued between $1,000 and $5,000, depending on the number of violations a person has over three years.
Anyone who causes a wildland fire by using fireworks will be held responsible for damages and the cost to fight the fire.
