A Canyon Lake woman was arrested on Monday in connection with a hit-and-run collision that occurred on Saturday, May 24, in the City of Canyon Lake.
At approximately 4:50 p.m., Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to a major injury traffic collision involving a golf cart and a Kia SUV on Canyon Lake Drive South near Gray Fox Drive and located two adult female occupants of the golf cart, both suffering from head injuries.
The victims were treated at the scene by the Canyon Lake Fire Department and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the investigation revealed that a black Kia SUV collided with the golf cart while both vehicles were traveling southbound on Canyon Lake Drive South. The black Kia SUV fled the scene following the collision.
The driver of the SUV was later identified as Misty Farrand, a 41-year-old resident of Canyon Lake. She was arrested on Monday, May 26, and booked for felony hit-and-run with injuries. Her bail was set at $25,000, and she was released the same day.
