Homicide victim found behind local park identified as Perris resident, father of nine

Police identified the homicide victim found behind a Riverside park on Tuesday as 32-year-old Cedric Omarr Dempsy of Perris. Dempsy is survived by his wife and nine children.

On December 22 at approximately 6:48 a.m., Riverside Police officers responded to an area behind Bordwell Park, located in the 2000 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard, regarding a dead body.

Upon arrival, officers found a male victim who sustained a gunshot wound and was deceased, the Riverside Police Department said in a news release.

Officials believe there were other people inside the park when this shooting occurred who have not yet come forward.
