With a total fish weight of 18.58 lbs., anglers Kevin Hugo and Kirk Bearsley reeled in first place in the Canyon Lake Bassmasters Club open tournament on Saturday, September 23.
Mark Bowman and Shane Lemmon took second place with a total fish weight of 16.01 lbs.
Damon Hold and Kempton Brandis rounded out the top three with a total fish weight of 15.13 lbs.
Tournaments have a five-fish limit. Fish caught during the tournament are released back into the lake after weigh-in.
Canyon Lake residents who enjoy fishing and want to improve their skills in a friendly, competitive environment are invited to join the Bassmasters Club. Boat ownership is not required. Monthly fishing tournaments are held from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first Saturday that follows the first Wednesday.
