The Canyon Lake Bassmasters Club fished its February monthly club tournament with a record number of 20 boats.
2022 Angler of the Year Kevin Hugo and Rich Blay weighed in a whopping 18.72 lbs. Hugo also reeled in the biggest fish of the tournament, a bass weighing 6.16 lbs.
The team of Damon Hole and Steve Baker came in second place with a total fish weight of 17.68 lbs, Joe Merrill took third place with a total fish weight of 15.83 lbs.
All fish caught were released safely back into the lake.
Canyon Lake residents who enjoy fishing and want to improve their skills in a friendly, competitive environment are invited to join the Bassmasters Club.
Monthly fishing tournaments are held from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first Saturday that follows the first Wednesday. Summer tournaments are held from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. For more information, contact Chuck Moreno at 951-837-5941.
