With temperatures in the low 30s at launch, the Canyon Lake Bassmasters Club held its first club tournament of the season on Saturday.
Kevin Hugo and Casey Engel reeled in 20.97 pounds of largemouth bass to capture the first place win.
Joe Merrill and Steve Oskey took second place with 17.43 pounds, followed by Steve Baker and Greg Szuba with 14.91 pounds.
Kirk Beardsley caught the largest fish of the tournament. His catch weighed in at 4.94 pounds.
All fish were released after weigh-in.
Canyon Lake residents who enjoy fishing and want to improve their skills in a friendly, competitive environment are invited to join the Bassmasters Club. Monthly fishing tournaments are held from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first Saturday that follows the first Wednesday.
