The Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC), in partnership with Caltrans and the City of Lake Elsinore, is upgrading the Interstate 15 Railroad Canyon Interchange in Lake Elsinore. RCTC is the lead agency for the project.
Scheduled to start this week, the I-15 Railroad Canyon Interchange project will address the needs of the area’s growing number of residents and recreational visitors.
The project will improve safety and capacity by adding lanes, modifying ramps, and building sidewalks and bike lanes along Railroad Canyon Road. These improvements will help residents and other travelers move through this area and reach businesses and other “Dream Extreme” attractions in Lake Elsinore, as well as improve traffic flow for people traveling to and from Canyon Lake.
There are no lane closures scheduled at this time, but work is subject to change, based on weather and other factors.
Work is expected to last two years; new lanes will open in 2022. For more information, visit www.rctc.org.
