Former long-term resident of Canyon Lake, Linda W. Willingham, born on February 28, 1935, in Shanghai, China, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on February 17, 2024, in Cypress, California. Linda lived a vibrant and colorful life, filled with adventures and cherished moments.
Linda was a world traveler who had a particular fondness for cruises. She outlived her three husbands: Jerome Marlow, Jerry Weinstein, and most recently, Dale Willingham. In her younger years, Linda was known for her exceptional dancing skills, always being at the forefront of fashion, and her incredible culinary talents. Her parties and social gatherings were legendary, with guests always looking forward to the meticulously prepared food and drinks. Linda was the consummate hostess, renowned for her hospitality and the delicious meals she lovingly crafted.
Linda lived life to the fullest, with a sharp mind and an even sharper tongue. When asked about the secret to her great memory and wit, she would attribute it to playing poker, Mah Jong, and eating well. She had a particular way of preparing food and drinks, with her favorite cocktail being Grey Goose on the rocks with a lemon twist, served in an Old Fashioned glass.
Linda’s love for her children and grandchildren was boundless. She was incredibly generous, often gifting cruises, overseas travel, and even purchasing her kids their first cars. Her sudden passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends.
Linda is survived by her sons, Mark Marlow and Jay Weinstein, and her daughter, Teri Moh, as well as 10 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Vicky Marlow. Linda’s legacy of love, generosity, and vibrant living will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
