Nancy Hedrick 76, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away Friday morning, September 18th in her Homeland, California, home, surrounded by loved ones after a devastating battle with frontotemporal dementia (FTD)
Born Nancy Irene Erwin in Arcadia, California, on July 30, 1950, she grew up and started her own family in Los Angeles County. She later moved with her husband and children to Madera, California, for a few years before making Canyon Lake her home around 1984.
Nancy was a successful hairdresser and salon owner in the Canyon Lake Towne Center for over 15 years.
She raised her three boys here in Canyon Lake, all of whom still reside in Canyon Lake with their families.
Nancy spent over a decade raising awareness for organ donation through OneLegacy and Donate Life alongside her then-husband, Jeff Hedrick, a OneLegacy transplant coordinator and liver transplant recipient, who passed away in June 2011.
Nancy married her friend and husband, Ralph Bailey, four years ago. They’ve spent the past nine years enjoying retirement together in their Homeland home.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Ralph; sons Chad, Ryan, and JJ; and their wives, Angela, Jen, and Liz. Her memory will live on through her eight grandchildren: Kade, Travis, Lexi, Addison, Ryan, Brian, Luke, and Mary (MJ), as well as her five great-grandchildren.
She will be forever remembered by her lifelong friends Linda, Harold, Judy, Sidney, and Gene.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Terry; brother, Jay; and daughter-in-law, Eliza, and husband, Jeff.
Nancy had a larger-than-life personality and a beautiful heart. She will be forever loved and missed.
Our family is eternally grateful to Nancy’s friend of 58 years for being by her side as she made her way home. Linda took care of Mom six days a week and held her hand as she took her last breath.
An intimate service of remembrance will be held at the home of Ryan and Jen in Canyon Lake next month. If interested in attending, please contact Jen at [email protected].
