It’s all treats and no tricks at the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce’s 28th Annual Parade of Frights. This free community event will be held on Saturday, October 23, in the Canyon Lake Towne Center.
The Parade of Frights features trick-or-treating, carnival games, a DJ, costume parade, costume contest, and food booth offering specialty items.
Using a Treasure Map, costumed children will trick-or-treat at participating businesses in the Towne Center starting at 9 a.m. Trick-or-treaters will receive a stamp on their Treasure Map at each participating business. Children who complete the map will be eligible for a prize drawing.
The costume parade and costume contest will begin at 11:30 a.m. Kids participating in the costume contest must register at the Canyon Lake Chamber Information Booth no later than 11:30 a.m. Each contestant will receive a number that will correspond to the category they are entered in. The categories are ages one and younger, two to five, and six to nine.
A trophy will be awarded for the best costume in each age category and one for the best ensemble.
