John Reed will lead the 2022 Canyon Lake Men’s Golf Club (CLMGC) season as president. Reed is the 53rd president in the club’s 51-year history.
Reed has served on the board of the CLMGC for the past two years and is the first non-resident to be elected to the board.
Reed joined the CLMGC in 2018 after being a member of the Canyon Crest County Club in Riverside for more than 30 years. At Canyon Crest, Reed served four years on the board of the Men’s Golf Association.
Golf is a big part of Reed’s life. He travels annually to Alabama to play courses on the Robert Trent Jones Trail, a collection of 468 holes of championship-caliber golf at eleven sites across the state.
Reed and his golf partner, Mike Sanders, many times play golf for 15 consecutive days. On one occasion, they played 33 days in a row.
Reed is also a fan of baseball. He has two nephews who are involved in professional baseball as coaches for the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Angels.
Reed has been married to his wife, Stephanie, for 46 years. They have two daughters and six grandchildren. The Reeds reside in Murrieta.
