A 16-year-old was fatally shot in the City of Wildomar on Monday. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
On January 9 at 4:47 p.m., deputies from the Lake Elsinore Station responded to Melinda Lane and Corydon Road in the City of Wildomar for a report of a shooting. Deputies at the scene did not locate any victims or evidence of a shooting, the Riverside Sheriff’s Department reported.
Shortly thereafter, a 16-year-old victim with a gunshot wound arrived at a nearby hospital. Despite life-saving efforts by medical personnel, the victim was pronounced deceased.
Investigative leads are currently being worked on. This incident appears to be isolated between the suspect(s) and the victim and there is no threat to the public, the department said.
