Canyon Lake POA Board of Directors President Joe Kamashian announced that he will not be running for a second term. Kamashian was elected to the board in 2020. His two-year term ends in May.
Kamashian cited personal reasons as to why he decided not to run again. “It’s been a great experience and I enjoyed serving the community for the last two years,” Kamashian said. “I have great memories of the things the board has accomplished and the people I’ve worked with. I encourage anyone who has an interest in the community to serve on the board or a committee.
There will be two vacant seats on the board in May when the terms of Kamashian and Jim Barringham end. Barringham has served two two-year terms and is not eligible to run again.
Homeowners interested in running for a seat on the board must be a Canyon Lake POA prime or associate member in good standing and submit an Intent to Run form to the POA office. Intend to Run forms must be submitted to the POA office no later than Thursday, March 3, at 3 p.m.
The five members of the board are collectively responsible for the management and operation of the POA’s business affairs. The directors are elected by at-large for staggered two-year terms. The terms are staggered with three directors in odd years and two directors in even years.
