The Canyon Lake Bassmasters Club held its monthly fishing tournament on May 7 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fifteen teams battled it out for the first place.
The team of Jonathan Kemble and Dave Lester took first place with five fish weighing a total of 24.21 lbs. Kemble also earned the “Big Fish” title with a bass weighing 5.75 lbs.
The team of Kevin Hugo and Steve Oskey took second place with a total fish weight of 18.06 lbs. Keith Bridges and Keneti Faagata reeled in third place with a total fish weight of 17.81. lbs.
All fish were released back into the lake after being weighed.
Canyon Lakers who enjoy fishing and want to improve their skills in a friendly, competitive environment are invited to join the Bassmasters Club. Monthly tournaments are held from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first Saturday that follows the first Wednesday.
