A Menifee man was arrested on Thursday and charged with carjacking and kidnapping.
On April 21 at 7:45 a.m., Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station deputies were dispatched to a report of a carjacking in the area of Railroad Canyon Road and Summerhill Drive.
During the investigation, deputies learned the suspect, 28-year-old Jerry Frias Tolentino of Menifee, had brandished a firearm and forced the victim to drive him to an unknown location in the City of Corona. Once at the location, Tolentino fled, leaving the victim in their vehicle.
At 5 p.m., Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station Investigations Bureau and Special Enforcement Team located Tolentino in the City of Orange. He was arrested and charged with carjacking and kidnapping. His bail was set at $1 million, according to jail records.
