As a casualty of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Don José Mexican Restaurant in Lake Elsinore has permanently closed. The restaurant made the announcement on its website.
“With a heavy heart, we are very saddened to announce the permanent closure of our Lake Elsinore location. The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has made it a financial hardship to reopen. We want to thank our customers for their support and loyalty over the past 30 Years. Sending our thoughts and well wishes to our employees that have worked for us throughout the years and have been an important part of our business. Again, we want to thank everyone in the community for supporting us, regrettably, we have to say farewell.”
On Friday, the restaurant posted on its Facebook page, “Like many other local small businesses and family-owned restaurants, we are a causality of this pandemic. The overhead for a restaurant of this size is tremendous. Only being able to offer takeout and delivery through delivery services does not cover the overhead. Thank you for your understanding during this very difficult time.”
Don José Mexican Restaurant was established in 1966 in Huntington Beach, California. The Lake Elsinore restaurant opened in 1991.
