The Riverside County Sheriff’s Lake Elsinore Station deputies will be out on March 3 looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence (DUI).
Drivers caught driving impaired and charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.
The Sheriff’s Department encourages residents to plan by designating a sober driver. Choosing a safe ride home can help prevent injuries, save lives, and avoid costly legal trouble.
Funding for distracted driving enforcement is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
