Lake Elsinore woman arrested on suspicion of theft of gravestone flowers from cemetery

A 45-year-old resident of Lake Elsinore was arrested on suspicion of stealing gravesite flowers, the Riverside Sheriff’s Department announced on Friday.

In late December 2023, the Lake Elsinore Station Special Enforcement Team (SET) assumed an investigation involving the theft of gravestone flowers from the Elsinore Valley Cemetery at 18170 Collier Avenue.

During the investigation, Angela Riedel, 45, was identified as the suspect. She was apprehended on January 4 after being spotted in the area of Central Avenue and Collier Avenue.

Riedel was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for vandalism and theft within the confines of a cemetery. according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
