Lake Hemet restocks 1,500 pounds of trout

California Fish and Wildlife restocked Lake Hemet with 1,500 pounds of trout on Wednesday.

The lake will be restocked with 4,000 pounds of trout four additional times this season: late January, mid-February, late March, and late April.

Day use is open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for $25 per vehicle or $150 for an annual pass. Shoreline fishing is open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The marina is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for rentals and personal launches.

Registration is now open for the 3rd Annual Big Trout Campout on April 27 and April 28. This year, anglers can expect to see brand-name sponsors and increased prizes. To register, visit
