Letter to the Editor: New POA Board Director

Editor,

Hi, this is Tim Cook, your new director on the Canyon Lake POA Board. When I first moved to Canyon Lake, I was in awe at the beautiful community that I had just discovered. I met so many wonderful warm people, willing to share and to give to their neighbors.

I met my current wife, Shelley, here and we had our first date in this city. We soon bought a home in Canyon Lake, got married, and started our life over together. We could not have found a better place than Canyon Lake to start a new life.

The more I became involved in the community, it became apparent to me that this is where we will retire and spend the rest of our lives. I soon became a founding member of the Canyon Lake Veterans and First Responders group and now serve as the vice president. The Veterans and First Responders group has always been and will continue to be where my heart is at, but as events changed in our community, I chose to run for the board of directors. The support was overwhelming.

Now that I am one of your new directors, I want to thank all of you for all you have done for me, including your support and welcoming me and my family. I am grateful.

As Canyon Lake now starts a new chapter, I am honored to represent the members of this community and promise to do the best I can to work hard for the members and to be open, transparent, fiscally responsible, available to all members as needed, and accountable for the decisions I will make. The people of this community have spoken and I am humbled and grateful.

I thank all of you for your support and votes. This community is the best in our state and I will do my best to keep it that way.

Tim Cook, POA Board Director
