About two weeks ago, in the middle of the night, our home caught fire in Canyon Lake. Within minutes, our whole home was engulfed in flames. All four of us were home asleep. My brother, Casey, noticed it first when we heard propane tanks in the garage exploding, screamed fire, and it’s all a horrible nightmare from there.
The four of us all saved each other. We were led by God and our dad, who passed away in 2021. Right now, we’re still in shock but we are going to start adjusting to a rental and figure out our next steps.
We are eternally grateful to my aunt and uncle, Brandon and Emilie Conaway, for housing us and welcoming us into their home as we navigate what to do next. They arrived within a minute of me calling them.
Thank you will never be enough. Thank you so much to our Canyon Lake community. It has been an amazing thing to witness, and we are so, so grateful for everyone who has donated, stopped by, checked on us, etc. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Lastly, we wanted to thank all of the firefighters. You are heroes. We will never forget your bravery, effort, and kindness during such a devastating time. We are very grateful to anyone who has or will donate to our GoFundMe. This has been so insane to go through, but at the end of the day, we are all alive, so we will take that as a win.
Thank you, Cameron Lum
