Lieutenant Rayls presents Canyon Lake public safety update for April 2022

On May 11, Lieutenant James Rayls of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department provided the Canyon Lake City Council with a public safety update for the month of April.

According to Rayls, deputies responded to 411 calls for service in April. Three Part One crimes were reported: two aggravated assaults and one larceny theft.

Deputies wrote 69 traffic citations and investigated two traffic collisions

Overall, deputies made 10 arrests in the City of Canyon Lake: two DUIs, one drug-related, two domestic violence, one public intoxication, and four warrants.

Police services are provided by the City of Canyon Lake through a contract with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Residents are reminded to contact the police department, not Canyon Lake Community Patrol, for incidents pertaining to the law. For emergencies, call 911.
