
On November 23 at about 4:30 a.m., deputies and investigators assigned to the Southwest Station conducted an investigation of an assault on a juvenile in the wash area south of Temecula Parkway and east of Pechanga Parkway.
According to the Riverside Sheriff’s Department, the victim, a teenage male, had several injuries and was admitted to a local hospital for treatment.
During the investigation, the suspect was identified as 44-year-old Juan Salman. Police say Salman allegedly attacked the juvenile, striking him several times with a blunt object, then attempted to sodomize him.
Salman was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, willful harm to a child, and attempted sodomy with force, according to jail records.
