Meet the Candidates Forum to be held for Canyon Lake POA Board candidates

The Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Meet the Candidates Forum for Canyon Lake POA Board candidates on Monday, April 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Holiday Bay Room at the Lodge.

This event is designed to help voters make informed decisions by offering a platform for open discussion and engagement.

From 6 to 6:30 p.m., attendees will have an opportunity to meet the candidates one-on-one. From 6:30 to 8 p.m., the structured portion of the forum will take place. During this portion of the forum, residents can submit anonymous questions, which will be presented to the candidates, giving them an opportunity to share their views on key community issues. Residents are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and take an active role in shaping the future of the community.

Mayor Mark Terry will serve as moderator, while John Grande, Canyon Lake Chamber acting president, will serve as the timekeeper.

Four candidates are vying for three open seats on the board: Jeff Bill, Bill Medved, Alex Cook, and write-in Lanie Cooney.

The forum will stream live on the POA’s Facebook page.
