A Menifee high school teacher was arrested today for allegedly physically assaulting a student on campus.
Shortly before 2 p.m., the School Resource Officer at Heritage High School responded to a report of child abuse involving a teacher and a student. The teacher, identified as 54-year-old Stacey Lynne MacPherson, was arrested for allegedly physically assaulting a student on school grounds.
According to the Menifee Police Department, an investigation revealed that an altercation occurred between MacPherson and the student, during which the student sustained a minor injury. The injury did not require medical attention, the Menifee Police Department said in a news release.
MacPherson was arrested and taken into custody for child abuse. She was released on bail, jail records show.
MacPherson has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation continues.
