Menifee Union School District is offering complimentary meals to students and children 18 years of age and under via the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) program from June 15 through July 17.
Children 18 years of age and younger can receive free meals through several meal programs offered at schools, libraries, and designated distribution sites throughout Menifee and Canyon Lake.
The program provides breakfast, lunch, and grab-and-go meal boxes at no cost to families. Meals served at school and library locations must be consumed on-site, while weekly meal boxes are available for pickup by parents or guardians.
The Menifee Union School District will provide free breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday, June 15 through June 26. There will be no meal service on June 19. Meals must be consumed on-site at the following locations:
- Freedom Crest Elementary School, 29282 Menifee Rd., Menifee
- Quail Valley Elementary School, 23757 Canyon Heights Dr., Menifee
- Southshore Elementary School, 30975 Southshore Dr., Menifee
- Táawila Elementary School, 30344 Stage Coach Rd., Menifee
Free lunches will also be available at two local libraries through July 17. At the Canyon Lake Library, located at 31594 Railroad Canyon Road, meals will be served on Fridays only from noon to 1 p.m. At the Sun City Library, located at 26982 Cherry Hills Blvd., lunches will be available Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Parents and guardians may also pick up grab-and-go five-day meal boxes on behalf of their children at Menifee Valley Middle School at 26255 Garbani Rd. Meal box distribution will take place on Thursdays from 8 to 9 a.m. on June 18, June 25, July 2, July 9, and July 16.
The summer meal program is designed to help ensure children continue to have access to nutritious meals while school is out of session.
