On May 27 at approximately 2:58 p.m., Bell Mountain Middle School was placed on Secure Campus lockdown by the Menifee Police Department out of an abundance of caution due to police activity in the surrounding area.
The situation was resolved quickly, and the Secure Campus was lifted shortly thereafter. No students or staff were in danger, and normal operations resumed without incident.
Secure Campus is implemented as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and staff when there is danger in the surrounding community. School activities continue throughout the Secure Campus mode, all classroom and office doors are locked, and all students and staff remain inside. The school perimeter is also secured.
