Sixty-three women on Friday evening participated in the Mermaids of Canyon Lake Club’s first-ever golf cart Witches Scavenger Hunt fundraiser. The event started at the Canyon Cowboy where participants received instructions and their first clue.
The scavenger hunt took place throughout Canyon Lake with each team earning points for completing tasks and collecting items while finding their way to three check-in points. Participants had to solve a puzzle at each check-in point to earn a clue to the location of the next check-in point. Appetizers and drinks were offered at each stop.
The scavenger hunt ended at club founder Lyne Hall’s home where the scavenger hunt and opportunity drawing winners were announced and participants enjoyed drinks and desserts. The winners, Team Pumpkin, were awarded Betsy Johnson rhinestone spider pendants.
“The club would like to thank the many husbands and boyfriends of our committee members who participated by being bartenders or manning the puzzles and handing out keys and curses,” Hall said. “We especially want to thank the three homeowners who opened up their home bars to us and the Canyon Cowboy for letting us gather on their patio at the start of the hunt.”
President Kathy Ray would like to thank all the women who participated in the club’s final 2022 fundraiser and helped to raise money for the club’s charitable recipients. “Thank you to all of the women who participated, we look forward to hosting our 2023 events,” Ray said.
