The Mermaids of Canyon Lake Club embarked on an endeavor to give back to the community and to raise funds for its charitable causes by curating a 2026 calendar showcasing the beauty of Canyon Lake, featuring photos submitted by community members.
To encourage participation, the club organized a community-wide photo contest, enticing residents with a chance to win a $50 gift card for monthly winners and a $100 gift card for the front cover photo winner.
By securing support from local sponsors, which are featured throughout the calendar and on the back pages, the club raised $7600 for the calendar giveaway and the club’s other charitable causes. As a token of appreciation, each sponsor received calendars and a mermaid-themed ornament.
More than 170 photos were submitted to the contest, according to Nicole Taylor, who led this initiative for the club. The photos were judged by local professional photographers.

The free calendars are available at the Canyon Lake Senior Center and the POA office.
The Mermaids of Canyon Lake Club is a nonprofit 501(c) 3 club that promotes volunteerism, sisterhood, and community. The club hosts several events throughout the year to raise money for its charitable causes, such as Helping Hands, Huey’s Heroes Foundation, Alternative to Domestic Violence and Trauma Recover Center, and needs within the community.
