The Canyon Lake community came together on Thursday for the 3rd Annual Hope Lights the Night luminary event, a heartfelt evening hosted by Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center in partnership with the Mermaids of Canyon Lake Club and the Canyon Lake Jr. Women’s Club. The event celebrates life and honors those impacted by cancer.
The gathering served as both a celebration of life and a tribute to those impacted by cancer.
Attendees had the opportunity to personalize luminary bags in honor of or in memory of loved ones affected by cancer, each one illuminated by a candle. As the bags were placed along the walkway in front of the stage, they formed a glowing “Wall of Hope.” The Canyon Lake Yacht Club extended the “Wall of Hope” with luminaries on boats on the lake.
As the sun set, the soft glow of the luminaries created a serene and reflective atmosphere, offering a powerful reminder that even in the darkest moments, there is still light, strength, and unity.
The evening also featured moving speeches, live music, and food vendors, bringing the community together in both reflection and support.
The Canyon Lake Jr. Women’s Club provided complimentary shuttle service, the Mermaids of Canyon Lake Club presented a $1,000 donation, and the Canyon Lake Firefighters Association donated proceeds from their T-shirt sales.
Riverside County Supervisor Karen Spiegel and members of the Canyon Lake City Council, Canyon Lake POA, Canyon Lake Fire Department, and Riverside County Sheriff’s Department were in attendance.
Hope Lights the Night continues to grow as a cherished community event, bringing people together to honor, remember, and support those affected by cancer.
