The body of a missing hiker was found at a construction site on Monday morning in the 4800 block of Palm Avenue in Riverside. An employee found the deceased woman and notified authorities.
At around 10:23 a.m., detectives and the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner’s Office responded and determined the body was that of 53-year-old Ester Hollister, according to a statement issued by the Riverside Police Department.
Police say the coroner’s investigation will determine the cause of death, but foul play is not suspected.
Hollister was reported missing on Sunday after she failed to return from an afternoon hike on Mount Rubidoux on Saturday. Officers, friends, and family searched the area extensively.
