Three boats pulled more than 100 riders during the Wakeboard Club’s two-day Learn to Ride Day event on Saturday, April 24, and Sunday, April 25, at the north ski area.

Participants paid $20 each for the use of equipment, personal training by an instructor, a 15-minute pull, and a raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes.

“What a great weekend,” said Wakeboard Club President Craig Brown. “Even with the cooler than ideal weather, we had over 100 riders of all ages and abilities. Thank you to the Wakeboard Club volunteers for helping to make this event possible.”

On Sunday, Veronica and Johnny Juarez of Patriotic Arms attended the event with their son and ended up buying 20 large pizzas to donate to the event. “It’s small business owners and individuals like this that help out the community and make Canyon Lake such an awesome place to live,” said Tricia Brown.

The club’s next Learn to Ride Day is scheduled for Saturday, September 18, and Sunday, September 19, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the north ski area.
