The City of Canyon Lake collected more than 80 turkeys and 70 to 80 bags of fixings during its 9th Annual Frozen Turkey and Food Drive on Thursday.

The food was donated by residents, Canyon Lake clubs, and local businesses. The Canyon Lake POA donated 12 turkeys and Coldwell Banker donated 20 turkeys and 20 bags of fixings.

Volunteers from HOPE, a food pantry in Lake Elsinore, were on hand to receive the donations.

For more than 25 years, the non-profit HOPE has been serving individuals in Elsinore Valley through its food ministry. Services provided by HOPE benefit more than 100 Canyon Lake families.

The food collected during the drive will allow some of the most vulnerable residents in the community to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.
