The Moreno Valley City Council on Tuesday unanimously appointed Ed A. Delgado to serve as the city’s next mayor pro tem.
A 25-year resident of Moreno Valley, Delgado has represented District 2 since he was elected to the Moreno Valley City Council in November 2021. He currently serves on the city’s Economic Development, Public Safety, and Parks and Community Services Subcommittees. He also represents the City of Moreno Valley at the March Joint Powers Commission and the Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG).
Delgado is a 23-year veteran of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, where he currently serves as the assistant sheriff overseeing Corrections. A Coast Guard veteran, Delgado is also an adjunct instructor for Moreno Valley College, where he teaches leadership courses to young adults within the law enforcement profession.
“I am honored to hold the title of mayor pro Tem for the City of Moreno Valley, and I would like to thank the city council and our community for their confidence in me,” Delgado said. “I take this job seriously, and I promise to continue to lead by example and work tirelessly every day to put the people of Moreno Valley first.”
