Multiple crews respond to early morning fire in Canyon Lake

Canyon Lake and multiple Cal Fire engines were dispatched to a structure fire this morning shortly after 9 a.m. in the 29000 block of Smugglers Point in the City of Canyon Lake.

The fire was confined to the attic and was knocked down quickly, confirmed Canyon Lake Fire Chief Jeff LaTendresse. Crews remained on the scene for several hours for salvage, overhaul, and investigation.

The fire caused approximately $30,000 in damages and appeared to be accidental in nature, according to Chief LaTendresse

No injuries were reported. The Red Cross was requested to assist the occupants.
