Murrieta Police Department detectives located a sex crime suspect at a Menifee campground on Thursday.
When officers arrived and attempted to make contact, the suspect refused to surrender. A police K-9 was deployed into the trailer to locate and apprehend the suspect, who was hiding in a pile of clothing and containers in the rear of the trailer.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
“The use of drones, Canine teams, and other tactics helped keep officers and the public safe by enabling a controlled, safe apprehension and mitigating risk,” the department said in a statement.
