The Murrieta Police Department announced that it will be going pink this year to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer.
In support of this campaign, Police Chief Anthony Conrad has approved the police department to participate in the Pink Patch Project and requested the department’s shoulder patch be turned pink during the month of October.
The patches are available to the public for $10 each and can be purchased in person at the Murrieta Police Department at 2 Town Square. Funds raised will benefit Michelle’s Place, a local cancer resource center that provides over 10,000 free services a year to individuals and families impacted by all types of cancers.
The Pink Patch Project originated with the Seal Beach Police Department in 2013. Additional agencies joined in the cause and began selling their patches and donating the profits toward breast cancer support and research. Currently, over 750 agencies throughout the country participate in the Pink Patch Project.
