Murrieta Police Department taking innovative approach to public safety

The Murrieta Police Department announced that it is taking an innovative approach to public safety by upgrading its Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and its Records Management System (RMS) to the cloud.

This strategic upgrade will empower officers with seamless access to the CAD from anywhere, facilitating swift access to vital information while in the field, thus enhancing response times to incidents. It will also reduce the department’s hardware footprint while bolstering cybersecurity measures to stay ahead of emerging threats.

Leveraging CentralSquare Technologies for its CAD and RMS systems, the department sets a precedent as the inaugural customer to migrate its CAD to the cloud. The switch highlights how public safety agencies manage and access critical information, showcasing how technology evolves with the dynamic work of public safety.

“The move to the cloud enables broader accessibility for our teams, empowering our 109 officers to get critical updates regardless of their location while renewing our commitment to the safety of our community,” Lieutenant Jeremy Durrant said.
